Michael Leahy is an author, speaker and the Executive Director of BraveHearts
LLC, an organization he founded whose goal is to increase the public's awareness of
the hidden dangers and long-term consequences of exposure to pornography from
the porn industry and mainstream media.
A recovering sex addict himself,
Michael is becoming widely recognized as a spokesperson for the over 20 million
men and women in America who are sexually addicted. He has appeared on ABC
News' "20/20", "The View" and numerous NBC, CBS, CNN and
Fox News local affiliate programs while touring college campuses across the U.S.
and Canada.
First exposed to porn at age 11,
his 30 year relationship with pornography escalated into a full blown sexual
addiction that eventually cost him a 15 year marriage and family of two boys, a promising business
partnership, countless relationships, his reputation and near financial ruin. Today,
10 years into recovery, Michael shares his redemption story in an effort to increase the
public's awareness of the hidden dangers and long-term consequences of porn
consumption, and to help others who struggle restore their hope and get the help
they need.
Michael is the father of two boys Chris (21) and Andrew (13) and currently
resides with his wife Christine in Herndon, VA.
